RAID is a very important technology now that people are becoming more and more dependant on technology because hard drives wear down and if you are not cautious,  then you could lose all of your data when the drive dies and then all that information that you stored on that drive, is gone. That is where RAID comes in, if you set several drives in RAID and have it share data across all the drives, in what is know as parity so all the information on one drive is duplicated on the other drives. In addition the capacity of the drives are combind so you can store data. RAID saves you the worry of a drive dying on you, and losing the data on that drive. With RAID devices like the Drobo, when one drive dies, you can just take it out and replace it with a new drive and all the data is copied over onto it and you don’t skip a beat. Since data is becoming more and more digital and now people are trusting important information like medical records and information that is crucial for people then, when hard drives wear down and eventually die as all drives do then important data can be lost. One thing that needs to be invented is miniture-RAID that can fit inside a laptop computer so that people’s laptop data can remain safe and users nop longer have to worry about their data.
